Release Notes

Brand Kits are here. Keep your brand colours, fonts, slide styles, and image libraries in one kit, and every presentation you generate comes out looking like your brand — with nothing outside your palette.

Two ways to build one. Already present from a PowerPoint or brand template? Click Import PPTX and we read your colours, fonts, logos, and slide designs straight out of the file. No template? Build it by hand: pick your colours, choose your fonts, and we generate slide styles from them.

Your own slides, generated for you. Import a presentation and make it AI-ready, and new decks are built from your template's own slides with your content placed in them. Choose Design a new slide when content fits nothing, or Only use my slides when every slide must come from your template.

Kits fit how you work. A kit can live in your personal space, a team, or the whole organization, and that decides who can see and use it.

Custom fonts, your choice. When an imported presentation uses a typeface we can't serve, replace it with any Google font for free, or upload your own font file on a paid plan to keep the brand exact.

Read Generate an on-brand presentation with your Brand Kit for the full walkthrough, from import to your first on-brand presentation.

Improvements

Presentations open noticeably faster in the web app now in all place, while editing, presenting or embeds — and the biggest wins land exactly where you used to feel the wait. Less time staring at a loading screen, more time actually presenting.

• Reopening a deck after a break is up to 90% faster. It used to redo a slow behind-the-scenes check — often 4–5 seconds of the wait. That's now remembered, so decks you come back to load in a fraction of the time. Same speedup for teammates and public links.

• Loading starts the moment you click — your deck no longer waits for the app to finish starting first, shaving up to a second off every fresh open.

• Decks you've opened before appear almost instantly from a local copy, then sync quietly in the background.

August brings a rebuilt charting engine, world map charts, Mermaid diagrams that follow your theme, internal slide link and external link support, and a cleaner bottom toolbar. Code blocks also render fully instead of clipping.

What's new

A more powerful chart editor

The chart editor now offers more chart types alongside bar, line, area, pie, and donut — including horizontal bar, combo, scatter, bubble, funnel, waterfall, heatmap, and Mekko. Edit data in a spreadsheet-style grid, and add arrows, text notes, stickers, highlights, tooltips, and difference callouts with the annotation tools. See Charts: types, data, annotations and controls.

Annotate charts

The Annotate tab holds six on-chart annotation tools. Two of them — Arrow and Text — work on every chart type; the other four are anchored to data points and are only available on bar (vertical), line, area (not 100% or stacked), combo with a bar series, funnel, waterfall, and mekko charts.

The Annotate tab's toolbar.

Annotations follow keep-data, hide-render: switching to a type that can't anchor them hides them with an in-panel notice but keeps them in the document, and switching back restores them. Any rendered annotation makes the chart export to PowerPoint as an image.

Select the Arrow tool, then drag on the chart to draw an arrow.

The Text tool places a note you can restyle.

The Sticker tool drops an emoji on a data point.

The Highlight tool spotlights a data point, series, or category.

The Tooltip tool pins a text callout to a data point.

The Difference tool bridges two data points with a labelled arrow.

World map charts

Create world map charts from country names or country codes and values. Choose a shaded-country or bubble style, show country names, values, legends, and annotations, and use zoom, pan, fit-to-data, and reset controls — including in full-screen Present mode, where map navigation is temporary and does not change the saved slide.

Funnel charts with conversion details

Funnel charts can now show conversion rates and drop-off counts for each stage, comparing against the previous stage or the first stage, so you can read the health of each step at a glance.

Mermaid diagrams generated and editable

Mermaid diagrams are generated for you and can be added directly to a slide. They render in your deck's theme colors and stay editable as text, through inline labels, or with AI. See Mermaid diagrams: insert, edit, and export.

Links in generated presentations

Safe web, email, phone, and slide links from your prompts, notes, and source documents are now carried into generated and refined presentations. Slide links keep pointing at the right slide after slides are reordered or removed, and unsupported or unsafe links are dropped. See Link a slide to another slide or a web page.

A redesigned bottom toolbar

The editor's bottom toolbar now groups slide-building tools under a single Insert menu, with organized access to text styles, shapes, tables, charts, images, themes, diagrams, and embeds, plus quick actions for media, shapes, and themes.

Code blocks display fully [fix]

Generated code blocks are now sized from their actual content, so lines are no longer clipped at the top, bottom, or sides. Content below a block, such as a note or badge, reflows instead of being covered, and code that is too wide for its column is fitted automatically. The editor, thumbnails, and exports all use the same code-block sizing.

Improvements

• Right-to-left charts — charts now display naturally in Arabic, Hebrew, and other right-to-left languages, with labels, axes, legends, and category order following the reading direction.

• Bigger chart previews — charts show a larger preview in the editor and in Present mode, and chart previews and PowerPoint exports now match the editor more closely.

Lines and arrows now render and format more consistently in the editor.

What's new

Line patterns that scale with stroke width

Dashed and dotted lines keep visible gaps and dot-shaped dashes at any stroke width, in the editor and in supported exports.

Proportionate arrowheads

Arrowheads now grow gradually with stroke width, and thick lines no longer poke through the arrowhead.

Arrows connect to groups

Drag an arrow endpoint close to a shape or a group and it snaps to the outline. Arrows attached to a group stay connected when the group moves or its contents change size.

Improvements

• Line formatting now lives under a single Stroke control: the width slider sits inside it, and the Fill and Border controls that don't apply to lines are hidden.

Similarly you can try out other controls with multi editing like changing font colour for all selected items and so on.

The editor gets a lot more expressive this month. If you build technical, academic, or data-heavy presentations, you can now add properly formatted equations, syntax-highlighted code, and real charts directly on a slide — no more screenshotting from other tools. You can also crop images in the editor, and new text elements pick sensible colors automatically.

What's new

Math elements

Add cleanly formatted equations right onto a slide. Ideal for lectures, research presentations, and anything STEM, where an inline image of an equation used to be the only option.

1. In the editor, open a slide and click More in the editing toolbar.

2. Click Math Formula (the button with the sigma icon).

3. In the right-side Equation Editor panel, enter your formula in the Formula field.

4. Choose Display Mode (Block or Inline) and Variant (Clean or Boxed).

5. Adjust Font size if needed. The equation shows live on the slide.

Code elements

Insert syntax-highlighted code blocks so technical slides stay readable. Code keeps its formatting and highlighting instead of being pasted in as flat, hard-to-read text.

1. In the editor, click More in the toolbar, then select Code.

2. Choose the language from the dropdown (for example, JavaScript).

3. Click Edit Code to open the code editor and enter your snippet.

4. The code block shows with syntax highlighting and line numbers on the slide.

Interactive charts

Charts are now handled natively, so your data shows as a real, editable chart rather than a static image. Update the numbers and the chart updates with them.

1. In the editor, click More in the toolbar, then select Chart.

2. Pick a chart type from the options: Bar Chart, Line Chart, Area Chart, Pie Chart, or Doughnut Chart.

3. With the chart selected, click Edit chart data in the toolbar above the slide.

4. In the Edit data modal, edit categories, series names, and numeric values.

5. Click Update to apply the changes. The chart redraws automatically.

Image cropping

Crop images directly in the editor to frame visuals exactly how you want, without bouncing out to a separate image tool.

1. Select the image on your slide.

2. Click the Crop button in the image toolbar.

3. Drag the crop handles to adjust the crop area.

4. Click outside the image or press Enter to apply the crop.

Improvements

• Smart default colors — new text elements pick sensible colors automatically, so they look right the moment you add them. For example, body text defaults to a dark gray that stays readable on most backgrounds.

• Refreshed editor UI for a cleaner, easier-to-navigate workspace. The top header, slide sidebar, main editing area, and right properties panel have been streamlined.
